Tinder is the key to success. That's where I found him. He had long black hair. His love for rock music could be read on his face. He's the chosen one, that's it. A little more and I got married. We talk about bands for a few days, then we decide to enjoy a beer and a Pink Floyd album at his house. After the album ends, he gets close to me and looks deep into my eyes, smiling. My heart was jumping out of my chest with happiness when suddenly his phone rang and then everything fell apart. His ringtone was a manele song from Salam.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
