She lifted my locket with all the grace of a born delinquent. I had come to say goodbye. He was 6, I was 8, and dad had been promoted to the other side of the world. I did not care. I just knew that my summers smelled of Tili and Jimmy Page from my brother's room. And that from now on, they will smell like something else. He hung it between non-existent tits. Come back to get it. Sometime. Time passed, and I never saw my father again. I stayed here, at Tili's chest, wondering if life would be as cool on the other side of the world.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
