I thought about her today. I didn't understand it. I had only one wish: to be honest. She told me that she is not a virgin, that she had sex with a man. I forgive you if you tell me who it is, or we break up, I threatened her. He looked at me sadly, refused to say his name and left, dropped out of high school and disappeared from town. Young man, the master lawyer interrupted my thoughts, we have a case. Aggravated rape, the father has been raping her since she was in high school. You handle it, the victim also lived in your city. I opened the file and I froze.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
