Give me my glasses, I can't see anything here. And the flashlight on the dresser. I think I got him. Oi, don't pull at it, or we'll never get it out. Give me a pin. And don't you want a scalpel too? If we make cuts, it'll ruin the pattern. We'll tie a knot and hide it. I don't know who is the one who did this, but I've never seen such a tangle. Come on, stop marveling, it'll be morning soon. You should thank me for finding it. It's no use finding it if you don't know how to handle it. Forget it, it's an old model. Yeah, peasant, it's a collector's item.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
