Attention! Said in a baritone voice the man who once was a proud father of two beautiful but naïve girls. Put your hands behind your head and your legs apart. Check them, Blondie, what they have in their pockets and arrange them better in a line so I can count them. From the dim-lit nook, Igor lit up a cigarette and waited patiently until his nephew would finish the job. There are 11, uncle. Should I count them again? Niet, there are 12 and he set free his automatic gun, seeing how they'd kneel cowardly on the old, cracked wall. The Blondie was the last one to fall.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
