What did she tell you? Said she'd quit her vices and go on a diet, but the ashtray is always full and she still raids the fridge every 20 minutes for either beer or food. She told me she'd start working out, and she does actually use that dusty exercise bike that used to just be a coat hanger, but 10 minutes later she's sat there eating chips. Bedroom walls, how's her sex life going? We may not reveal her boudoir secrets. But she keeps searching for a spot and rolling her eyes. Dudes, bathroom wall here, and I wish I were blind, deaf and anosmic.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
