When we take up the backgammon, the other piecesare for chess. It's a sport of luck, based on how well you know how to lie to your opponent, that's why it's called the smart sport. As in life, the queen is much more confidentthan the king, soft and pretentious. It is, but if you can't make any more movements, it's mate. Just like in life, right next to the king and queen, the rooks sit still, let the knight eat the idiots. Boo. On the extreme side, there's the turns, because the game is played in turns. And in front, the low class, they had no luck in the past, those are the pawns.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
