I wanted my story with angels to be the most beautiful of all. It's not. So I'll tell you quickly like you rip the bandage off a wound hoping it will hurt less. My angel fought all his battles like those soldiers of Napoleon as if he had a marshal's baton in his bag. Where the hell did you see marshal wailing? My angel was undergoing chemotherapy. He fights. My angel was smiling at us, sick. He fights. My angel has left his bag and he is waiting for me to fight. I tell stories and wait formy wings to grow.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
