I had heard my entire childhood that I killed my guardian angel with a kitchen knife. I had started to be afraid of knives, my reactions and my paranormal powers, manifested since I was one year old. You threw the knife at your sister, my mother told me. The iron swing had hit my head. Who are you? Keep calm, you'll be fine. Are you a doctor? Why do you have sewn wings? I have saved myself many times. Have you eaten crushed shards too? Yes, from your little spoon. I was running to catch your knives, to catch you when you fall. You put me on sick pension and my colleagues are on medical.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
