When I was young, I read somewhere or heard from someone that your guardian angel does not go into the pub with you. And every time I went on the Motorbikes terrace, I thought that down on the steps at TNB, there must be a large crowd of angels. And I was thinking how they stand there, beings of light, waiting for us, beings of clay, to come down drunk, to take us home safely. Then, sitting beside us on the edge of the bed, caressling us, heal our wounds and tell us the Story of Life without death.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
