I am not asking you for the moon from the sky, I don't ask you for any more gifts, no love on the couch, no Mercedes with a driver, no chaise lounge under a palm tree, no umbrella on a hanger, no miner's helmet, suits in a dresser, a boyar's hat , loosely tied bow tie, pioneer tie, engineer's degree or banker's fortune, downstairs shop, iron road trips, workshop tools, salt and pepper sauce, dromedary fat yogurt. I want you to know that I prefer a drawing on the fridge and under it write big: I love you desperately.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
