The artist in me is generous. I will do more. One for the dry grandma that reminds me of my childhood. A medal for the solid, military-bringing type. He sure has something of a hero in him. Then a bouquet of roses for the young lady with a butterfly tattooed on her arm. For the little girl I made a doll dressed as a princess. I prepared a house for the homeless old man. I put something for each occupant on the fridge doors. Even though it's a morgue here, it doesn't mean we're not sensitive.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
