We were in the hotel restaurant, at different tables. Alone. The famous painter was eating fish with caper sauce. I went up to him, with courage, and asked him if he wanted to make love to me the same way he knows how to make love to the canvas and the colors. We went up to my room. Within seconds I was in bed, naked. He told me to sit like that, still, because I inspired him. He took some pencils out of his linen jacket's pocket and started drawing my body on the fridge door. That night, I ran home feeling happy, along with the fridge.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
