All your life you have been quiet, self-disciplined, consumed solely by your own actions. You did not give a damn about other people's opinions. You fell in love every day, with the first skirt who came your way. Then, you would forget your family. Why did I love you so much? Today, looking at you inside the chapel, impassive, cold, I'm thinking to my myself that I would have needed three more coffins. One, the burry the silence, another for oblivion and the last one for lovelessness. I'm smiling. I know that even on the other side, quiet as you are, you fell in love with a succubus, and you've already forgotten us.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
