She was screaming, yelling, shouting and struggling on top of me as if I was killing her. She was stroking my ego, giving me the impression I was good. Did you finish? I eventually asked, intoxicated by all the moaning. No, you're too small for me. I stuck around for singing practice, I have a concert tomorrow. To hell with it, I said as I was leaving, angry. I then got out the door. Old lady Vicky was on the doorstep, empty jar in hand. How was it, dear? She asked. Not good today. Get your jar ready for tomorrow. And put it against the right wall next time. Sure thing, dear, but may I also join tomorrow?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2022, the group has 9,250 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
