Kids, did I tell you how I won the Nobel Prize for Literature? Yes grandpa, many times. Okay, then I'll tell you. In 2012 I had the idea to create a facebook group, which I called Real Fictions. At first it was small, a few dozen people, but over time they kept multiplying. Thousands, then tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, up to millions. You could find all kinds of characters there, highly educated people, kids with harps, girls with paper clips, everyone wrote there. Yes, yes grandpa, as you say, now take these pills.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
