This is the setting. You're going to film the camera while I'm talking. Make sure you show that the white is dirty, that the floor is full of dirt and mold, I don't want anything positive, if a flower is visible from the window, you blur it. He insists on that big piece of flaky plaster, he films the crack in the wall. Don't open your mouth, I'm only interested in your memories in writing and with a maximum of 500 characters, including spaces. For what I have to say I need silence, tension, without effusions. Uh, an Aries sign.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
