Each one looked up to the sky and dreamed of a better destiny. Four corners of the world with four lives. One is praying to the half-moon. The second one is looking at a grandfather that has a star in his chest. The third one was jaded, whereas the last one found himself feeling better in the nature. Each one is laughing when being happy, suffers during sadness, cries when their lover leaves. They are not the same blood but share the same curiosities. Who am i? What is my purpose here? To love and to live. And so many other questions as these until all four of them and everybody else turn to the earth, one earth.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
