Weren't you boasting about keeping her all winter? I took her to all the doctors. I used to show up with supplies every month. This used to work for you in college. Didn't I fix her shed? We took her with us on holiday. She used to ask only about you. She wanted to see you. So, how are we going to do this? I only have two rooms. I have many delegations to attend. I have young twins. I'm having troubles with the wife. All four of us can pitch in and pay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Are you going to tell her? I can't. Me neither. No. Mom, we talked it out and we're all set. Not to worry, I prayed to the Lord to take me to His Kingdom.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
