Yes, that's when. That's when I become the female you've been waiting for. Have a little patience. You'll see how I turn, how I'll watch you fascinated as you tell me about your exes, what a stud you are, how many races you win. I'll learn and bow, pretty much all the time. And what onomatopoeias of admiration you'll hear. That's when, alright. Until that deadline I'll sit like this, unharnessed, unmounted by the great champion, waiting for one of the packhorses, without a record, with blinkers, for which only I exist.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
