I'm going to the mare fair with Joița. Are you putting her up for auction? No, dummy, that's when the whole village comes. I'm going to put on my ruffled dress, my lime-green lace umbrella and with three drops of Chanel on my erogenous zones, I'll make their jaws drop. Orlando is also coming with his Chinese guy. Is he going to buy horses or red eggs? They're coming for herbs. I'm going to put lovage on my belt and hat. The fake Chanel is going to mess with the furrowed lovage and you're going to drive those people insane. I'll tie them to me for eternity. Hell, is that what you did with me? No, you drank wormwood because you had a fatty liver.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
