Father Agheasmie came out with the censer and sprinkler in his hands. Behind, the cantor slowly followed him. After a few steps, he staggered away. The cantor grabbed him by the shoulder and opened the gate. A black Mercedes S Klasse was parked in front of the church. Pompilică, the mayor's son, got out of the car. Father, my daddy wants you to baptize my Mercedes. He smiled and slipped an envelope into his cassock pocket. A passer-by approached from across the road. Father, I bought a second-hand Logan. When will you be able to baptize it? When horses fly, smirked His Holiness.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
