I'm not going to be stuck in a boring job, from which I come home always angry and unhappy. I don't want to end up like you guys, I know that. When I have children, I will always hold them in my arms and tell them that I love them and that they are wonderful. I will always encourage them. I won't be like you, a coward. I'll say everything I think, I won't be a hypocrite, even if I end up friendless. Friendship isn't what you think, a cesspool. Friendship is the greatest proof of love. It's serving your soul on a plate for your friend.

Nadina Vișan / Edited by Silvia Petrescu, coordinator of the translations)Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days.
