You are a child. That's what they told me. I'm surrounded by grown ups who call themselves Grown-ups. And other children. There's not much difference between us. Some children are mean and selfish to those around them. And so are some Grown-ups. Other children are generous and loving. Same with other Grown-ups. We are all pieces of the same Whole. We share Heaven, Earth, Sun. Some people know how to enjoy themselves. Others don't. Somehow, the number of happy children decreases directly in proportion to the number of happy parents. When I grow up, I'll be Whole.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
