Oh, if it were only one, I'd think I was getting close to being an angel, but I have a flaw in every key point. In fact, even the so-called virtues seem to be flaws in my case. I'm like a perpetuum mobile of flaws. I can't get rid of one before discovering another. Yesterday I failed being impressed by my future mother-in-law. She wanted to impress me with her culinary skills, and she invited us to dinner. For her special recipe, tripe soup. I dipped my spoon in and deliberated. Apart from a terrible smell of beef, what are these weeds doing here?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
