I do not talk. I'm not mute, I articulate words, but I have nothing to say. My story is in no way special, my inner conflicts are of a banality equal with all human history. My loves have already been sung about by troubadours; novels have been written about my failures. They were other people's too. Perhaps if I could paint, my life would have its own unique color. But I can't. I am a common being, and I go through life colorless. My history is already written, no one cares anyway. And I've talked too much again.

Nadina Vișan / Edited by Silvia Petrescu, coordinator of the translations)Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2022, the group has 9,400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days.
