I began my life with an A. At school, I was a straight A pupil. In college, I was a model student. I got my degree with the highest mark. Then, my master's and my PhD. I wanted to go to the North Pole, which I did. I wanted to have the coolest car and I got it. I dreamed of living in a house by the sea. Now, every morning I swim in the Mediterranean Sea. I can obtain anything I desire. I'll take you to the stars and beyond. So, will you be my wife? No, because you don't know how to fix my bathroom faucet.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
