Well, well mom, you are asking me how school was and the teacher how I spent my vacation. You women are very curious, but you can eat your heart out before I tell you anything else about my private life. Matthew, what's all this talk? From now on, you won't go fishing with your father anymore, he's only putting nonsense in your head. Then I won't go to yoga with you either because it's boring. Oh, he's just like his father. You're grounded, go face the wall. Not the Facebook wall, Matei, the room's wall. Mommy, the video camera doesn't have a wall.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
