It's every day. When I wake up in the morning. Alive. Sometimes I still flirt with the idea that I might be dead and let the afternoon pass. Then I get up scared. That maybe someone looked for me and I didn't give a sign or an answer. It's nice to have people looking for you. The ones you love. Waiting for you to talk to them. Unless they're too insistent. Because they love you too. And they smile at you, even if you're silent with your little green bubble on. Green is good. Alive as life. It's their luck. And mine. And I'm happy for them. And for me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
