Why are you grinning like that, huh? Did I say something funny? Do you think I'm here to entertain you? Heeey. Grab that crate and sort through the onion. You bloody little brat, grumbled the foreman. And you, what are you all staring at, come on, all ninth grades have a quota to sort out. Do you think this is some kind of high-end high school? On the field, we are all the same. There's egalité you know, he smirked. Put your hand in and sort, comrade, or did your mummy raise you like a princess? He placed his hands on his hips and smacked his lips satisfied: you are all mine today, little flowers.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2022, the group has 9,580 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
