Medusa, at about 25 years old, fresh out of the shower. Gogu, I can't find my hairspray. Go-guuu, can't you hear me? Oh, I'm talking to myself again. Obviously, Mărioara goes to the hairdresser, while I am supposed to fix my hair by myself. You stupid man. Gogu, if I get to say it one more time, you'll be sorry. Don't tell me you're on the couch, watching the game? Did you get my hairspray? What do you mean, when? It was on the list. Gogu drops the remote and starts awake. Brrr, what's up, woman? I have fallen asleep. Medusa was glaring in the doorway with her hands on her hips and the 30 snakes tangled under the towel on her head.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2022, the group has 9,880 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
