He never thought about what it would be like. He lived in that kind of bubble from which not even his thoughts could escape. That day he had other plans and Almighty was probably laughing. He calmed him down quickly with a broken collarbone, 3 broken ribs and a blackout from a hit on the back of his head. He heard the people around him as if they were on the other side, talking, worrying, calling the ambulance, while he was vegetating in a kind of peaceful manner. He woke up only during the X-ray and kept thinking about it for 3 weeks straight. Since then he keeps on living on all kinds of other sides, but never the final one, yet.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2023, the group has 10,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
