Icar, my boy, where the fuck are you going to? We'll be left in the mythology as the stupidest people of this village, get back down from there. If you went to school and learned something as your father told you, you would have been an architect now, and I wouldn't be here to catch cosmic flies under your butt. I told you to get down. You think that if you smoke in different bathrooms with Helios he is going to be nice to you? He's an idiot too. It got through your mind now to be a symbol, since you didn't do anything in this life. I didn't slap you when it was the time, I listened to your mother. I deserve it now.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2023, the group has 10,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
