Writing is far away from being listening. It's just a wound/ mark on the window, just water on the window. It's a plain memory, a pause and one that is forgotten, placed where maybe it's not needed, a cipher that unnecessarily guards an inappropriate explanation. How can so much human saliva be good, an exchange of touched lips on paper, but all the taste that comes back is only the apparent writing, this apparent living, unstitched not even a millimeter, the water and rent of a man, not paid in his place? That's what I would call writing. The luck of the one who doesn't receive it. Your kiss is louder than a writing written 13 times in a row.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2023, the group has 10,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
