The girls from the pub, called At The Three Filthy Women, had a clean record. If you didn't look at the dirtiness under their fingernails, you wouldn't even notice that they were hand in hand with the police. The meat was minced with the cleaver, seasoned in a great manner and sold as being the tasteful minced meat rolls in town. When the Comrade, who was also the First Secretary, found a gold tooth in a meat roll, he remembered that his predecessor, who suddenly disappeared one night, had a canine tooth just like that. He crossed himself, gritted his teeth (got  the food out of the back of his teeth) and said: I'm lucky I didn't swallow it, thank God.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2023, the group has 10,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
