They had strolled platonically through the winding streets of the park but careful of the potholes so as not to affect their IQ. They had been doing this for about two weeks without touching each other, it was also difficult when sitting on different benches. That morning you were cutting the fog with a bread knife and you could not see a thing, he a baker, she a florist. Fate placed them on the same bench. They looked at each other. She handed him a note. I wanna I3 with u. He jumped up and told her that he didn't want children. No way 13. What a fool you are. I wanna B with u, but it's a bit cold and the pen doesn't really write.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2023, the group has 10,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
