I hide myself behind the curtain, at the corner of the window, and I see her in the parking lot. I like how her trousers cling to her curves when she takes her shopping bags out of the trunk. She has a funny and a bit of a naughty behind. I will write to her a note, I love you, and I'll put it under the windscreen wiper. Then I will ask her to marry me for the very simple reason I feel she is the chosen one. Behind the curtain, at the corner of the window, I see her again: she wears a short skirt, and she is kissing some jerk. I don't think he is her cousin. I will write her a note, bloody cunt, and I will put it under her windscreen wiper.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2023, the group has 10,790 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
