Yo, woman. I worked my ass off to build this house. Ya brought ya mum to live with us, \'cause she's sick, ya dad too, \'cause his wife left him, ya sister with her kids, \'cause her man's a nitwit. Ya invited Gigi too, sayin' he was living alone and you felt pity for him, but now I'm the one who pities him, after all the times ya rode him. But I'm not complainin' about this, \'cause it was good to see yayellin' at someone other than me. But how could ya bring mommy in? She's been beating me for two days now, \'cause she said she didn't do it enough when I was little and that's why I'm so stupid. And now she even has a stick too. Ouch. Nero, aren't you coming too?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2023, the group has 10,790 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
