Costel old sport, having freshly entered The Faculty of Architecture of the Cantacuzino University in Iași, a classic case of breaking and entering, falls asleep in a classroom from which he had planned to take all of the computers. He wakes up in the middle of class with the dean hitting the desk with his ruler and asking him: What is the biggest house in the world? Hmm, it's the EU. Get out, you, moron, the professor says as he shows them the Century Global Center in Sichuan. Costel old sport, still groggy, goes out babbling in an archaic Chinese: That's what Ursula from Leieni said last night, if she's lying then so am I.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2023, the group has 10,790 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
