I told him I was going to the countryside, but when the night came, I lurked in wait in the park across the street. At around 7 o'clock they finally showed up, hand in hand. He and that blonde bitch from Finance. I spent the whole night thinking about revenge. Yesterday, I made his favourite dinner, I put the champagne inside the fridge to chill, and I waited for him to come, dressed in a bikini. It was only when we reached the bedroom that I got my revenge. In every way and every position. It wasn't for nothing that I had graduated with a psychology degree from Spiru. It was the cruellest form of revenge: I made the bastard realize what a great lay he had lost.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2023, the group has 10,790 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
