The 4 old ladies were napping at Sunday mass. The deaf woman found a funnel in her pocket and jumped to her feet. Wow. You're so dumb. The little girl jumped as if she was on fire. Why are you calling me stupid? Deaf girl waved her hand in disgust. Not you. The old granny jumped as is she was on fire. Who are you calling dumb? The coquette woman jumped as if she was on fire. The deaf woman growled and came out at the speed of an old woman with arthritis. The old deaf woman and coquette were arguing with each other who's dumber. The deaf woman stopped in front of the house. Where was I rushing to and why? In the cellar, closed for 2 days, the husband cried out in tears. Did you find the funnel?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2023, the group has 11,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
