Just like an athletic fisherman, I was throwing thoughts in waters, I was catching the illusion of the dream and I was throwing it again, pleased but still hungry. I was drinking my coffee by the window, I was reading by the window and I was putting the rebellion of Sisyphus to sleep by the same window. She's so beautiful, like a snowflake's message, the owner of the house across the street has flowers at the windows and her hair si long and dark and I would turn myself into an arch over the street and I would turn myself into rain to sprinkle her garden. I will give her a pie made with lots of colorful fruits, but I catch myself dreaming again while she, she is so married.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2023, the group has 11,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
