The first one was jealous, no going out with the boys. The second one would take all his money, he didn't even have enough for a beer. The third went out with him and drank them all under the table. But this time, God blessed him. She'd tell him to go out with his mates, she'd wait for him lying in bed with a pint in her hand, to have it after. Too bad he'd usually fall asleep instantly. But today he came home earlier. He eagerly entered the house and headed straight for the bedroom. Stupefaction. She was having sex with someone wearing a beer bottle costume. I'm not cheating on you, darling, I'm befriending your hobby.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2023, the group has 11,260 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
