She learned flamenco and she was now dancing with the mop in her hand. She was working at a hotel in Spain, she only finished tenth grade, she came here at 17 to make some money. So what? Her life was moving with the rhythm. At 10.00 she was washing the laundry, when the time came for rinsing, she was dancing hip hop spinning and leaping on the washing machine's trepidations. At around 12.00 she began to vacuum while pouring her heart out on My Way. You won't achieve anything in life. If you have no brain, there's no gain, her grandma used to tell her with a mute kind of pain. Her life is played out on the burned heel of a living flamenco.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2023, the group has 11,430 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
