There were delayed trains on the railway station. It had snowed the night before and the roads were blocked. The clock tolled 12.00, I had another two hours of waiting. I barely find a seat on a bench. I pull a book from my backpack. A girl holding a ball approaches: What are you reading?, About the infinity, What's this infinity about?, It's something endless, like the sky. So, if I walk, the infinity is always in front of me, does it ever chase to be? It doesn't have a head. I annoyedly said. She was thinking and spinning the ball, when I heard her: When I'll grow up, I'll build a ladder, climb it and I'll still catch this infinity by its foot.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2023, the group has 11,430 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
