It was love at first sight. She was on holiday. She hurried past him. Petite, flirty, she stole his heart. He didn't expect to see her back home in Sibiu a month later. After the moment of amazement, a huge smile spread across his face. He knew the third time would be lucky. He asked friends about her, googled intensely for a week. With his lessons done, freed from his fears, he took courage. He found her. He took her. They've been inseparable ever since. It suits them well together. Her name it's Mini. Mini Cooper.

Love, I want a Mini, Corcodușa catcalls to Father Agheasmie, pulling her clothes on. Look, a pink one, like in the picture. The priest looked at the phone screen and snorted with laughter. He got out of bed and walked over to the refrigerator. He opened it and grabbed a beer. He opened it and drank it without taking the bottle from his mouth. After a satisfied belch, he asked her: Where did you hear about this car? She smiled. From my sista from Itely, she has one too. I asked her: Where did you get it? From that fool Catholic priest.

On the terrace by the pool they had homemade blueberry vanilla pancakes, crazy goodness. Before Master Chef slid the edges of the omelette to the center with his spatula, he asked the princess behind me what she would like. A mini omelette with just cheese and tomatoes, the little girl replied, with a class-award winning attitude. I turned to her and asked if she was really a princess. She looked at me for a millionth of a second, blinked her eyes quickly and hung her head, snorting with laughter.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2023, the group has 11,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
