It was beautiful, but impractical. On the mountain in those jams, you can disconnect by admiring the scenery, but what can I admire from ground level, maybe just the parapets, or the bar of the one in front. Then I had to leave it about 23 km further on like those Dustere guys. What's mine to do on forestry roads? And on the way back, my parents wanted to give me something from the yard, supposedly to put my trunk on top, otherwise it's not a car. As you can see, it wasn't worth the money, and anyway Alina hooked up with someone with an Opel Corsa car.

Around 5 years old. I gave him up to two cowboys and an Indian. My father told me I was stupid, that they cheated me. When I was 8 I gave the cowboys on a stamp to a boy who had come from England to his grandmother's for a holiday. I got my ass kicked again. In college I kept my stamp and Indian in my jacket that brought me luck in my exams. An art teacher saw them. The stamp was a British Guyana Magenta. I sold it for $9 million. Today, Mișu, dad and Mark work for me. I opened the first Ferrari dealership in Dorohoi city.

In '94, for me, my grey '72 Dacia car was worth more than a Ferrari. I loved it with all my heart even though it blew 10 m of smoke, put 1 litre of oil per 100 km, didn't get hot and had tyres I could trim my moustache in. Every month I'd fix and improve something. After a while, something started bothering my left eye and my pants looked splattered when it rained. I realized the asphalt was showing through the floor. I covered the hole with some tattered rags and sold it.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2023, the group has 12,210 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
