When I got to her home, she had her hair wrapped in a towel and she was wearing a bathrobe. I told her right from the moment I entered the hall that I had something important to talk to her. And then, in that very moment when I wanted to tell her about the breakup, the bathrobe opened and her wet breast have spectacularly appeared just like actors behind the curtain. What were you saying? she asked me smiling. I-I-I wanted to tell you how much I love you. She took me by the hand and she led me in the bedroom. That damned bathrobe.

Nuți, bring another bottle of brandy, a voice could be heard through the opened door of the presidential office. Sir, you always drink no more than three bottles, the blond haired lady said worried. Who is disturbing you? Is itAntena 3 TV channel? No, my dear. Those taking care of the cleaning. They broke my zipper. How am I supposed to meet the opposition tomorrow? Wow, let me be your anchor, she said smiling without any shame. You know...before working in politics, I used to work at a haberdashery. I was a master with my dexterity for zippers. I recommend you to stay relaxed.

She found him with the buttons on his shirt unbuttoned. His pants were also opened. Her bathrobe was opened. They both had a smell of alcohol and layed on the bed in an endless hug. It was raining heavily outside. The two of them didn't feel the time passing by. It wasn't an easy thing to look at them. Criminals, he told to himself. They let the alcohol bottles where parents can find it. I'll wait until they wake up to fine them for disturbing the silence. And the kids for irresponsibility. It's five o'clock.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2024, the group has 12,800 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
