Our first trip abroad, as a couple, with a romantic photo on Facebook and tag so the whole world would know where we were, was to Liverpool. To visit my sister, who's been living for many years in the UK (thanks a lot for this, SDP, kisses). It was as romantic at Anfield stadium, because I had the same exact idea of you'll never walk alone in my mind. As I was standing there and thinking about how many goals could Salah score in a match, my boyfriend pulled a small box out of his pocket with a big diamond inside. Will you? To never walk alone?

They were herded inside like a flock of dumb animals. Ageless men, women with their heads covered, dragging their children along. A few boys jumped between the seat rows, made shirts out of bags, crafted a ball and exchanged a few passes. Soon, tents and cardboard boxes sprouted on the field. When they realized they were locked in, they rushed towards the exit. They raised their fists, shouted incomprehensible words and fought with the gendarmes. Go back, Europe is not for you, one of them shouted through clenched teeth.

How many of you are world champions at something? I am at everything. I play sports. My name is SC Maximus Force. SC stands for Sport Club. I am a team myself. My multiple personalities have a duality with their respective dualities. Inside of me is crowded, very hot, mon cher. But when I step on the field, I divide. For every adverse reaction, I multiply by two. For every goal I score, I take two goals. I am like in manele music: everything I've done, the world has been amazed. I eat chocolate and it turns into abs.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2024, the group has 13,100 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, Luchian Abel, and Vlad Mușat. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
