What a sexy voice you've got. You've got it from your mother, but only the diction, you've got the vibration from your father. You are so funny, she replies. Look, you squeeze your lips and you also help the elders, I reply. If everyone were like me and you, what a wonderful world it would be, she says. What a lie, I think, but I don't tell her that, I tell her that we are made of the same dough. Tell me more about the dough, she says. I tell her that she is a-dough-rable, she laughs, I work up the nerve, get very close to her and she hits me in the head with her purse. Everything was just in my head.
Too bad, we were already getting along well.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
